To do the pose, start by squatting with your feet together and your hands on the floor, shoulder-width apart. Bend your elbows slightly and place your knees on your upper arms, just above the elbows. Lean forward to shift your weight onto your hands and lift your feet off the ground. Look ahead and use your core to stay balanced. 

  • Eagle Pose (Garudasana)

To perform the eagle pose, one must be completely focussed. Start by bending your knees and lift your right leg, crossing it over the left and hooking your right foot behind your left calf. Then, cross your arms in front of you, placing the right arm under the left, and wrap your forearms together with your palms touching. Keep your gaze forward and use your core to stay steady. This pose boosts focus and coordination.

  • Sirsasana (Headstand)

Sirsasana is an advanced yoga pose that helps improve balance, strengthen the core, arms, and shoulders, and increase blood flow. To do this pose, start by kneeling on the mat and placing your forearms on the floor to form a triangle. Interlock your fingers, leaving a small space for the top of your head. Place your head gently in that space, making sure the weight is on your forearms and not your neck. Slowly lift your legs and straighten them upward. Balance your core properly. This pose helps with focus, clarity, and confidence.

  • Anulom Vilom Pranayam 

It is alternate nostril breathing that helps awaken the Ajna Chakra. To do this practice, sit in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Close the left nostril with the left thumb. Start by breathing through the right nostril. Hold your breath for a few seconds and then block your right nostril by pressing it with the left hand middle finger. Exhale out from your left nostril.

  • Trataka

It is another effective way to awaken the Ajna Chakra. This technique involves focusing on a specific point. You can do it with your eyes open or closed. Take anything, like a candle’s flame, a dot on the wall, or any specific object. 

When a beginner, you can start this technique with your eyes open and as you make it a habit, you can close your eyes and then focus.

  • Shambhavi Mudra

Shambhavi mudra is also known as eyebrow gazing. Sit comfortably and relax your body. Roll your eyes upwards and try to look at the point between your eyebrows. If you find it difficult, take short breaks, relax, and do it again. This will help build your focus and increase your concentration power. 

The eyebrow center is the main point to awaken the Ajna Chakra. You can also chant the “OM” mantra while you focus on the eyebrows.
